It's almost Fall, y'all.

​Grace and peace be with y’all, Beloveds!
September… It’s here. Somehow, it snuck in because I don’t remember even having a summer break. It won’t be long before our calendars are full of football games ~Geaux Saints! practices, meetings, and evening activities that bring the familiar rhythm of fall.
Amid the return to our normalcy…or to something new, I want to joyfully remind you that one thing remains constant—the love and welcome of Jesus through your St. Andrew family.
Scripture reminds us of the goodness of being together. The writer of Hebrews encourages us: “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24–25). It is good for us to gather together, y’all.
Here at St. Andrew, we are more than a congregation—we are a family. We are the people who know one another’s joys and burdens, who pray for one another by name, who share laughter at “half-time” and quiet support in times of need. We are the ones who watch children grow up in the faith, who welcome all (because all means all y’all), and who keep showing up for one another because Christ first showed up for us.
In worship, we receive what we cannot give ourselves—God’s Word that strengthens faith, the forgiveness of sins spoken over us, and God’s own Son, Jesus, poured out for us as we weekly celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Around the font and the Table, we are reminded that we do not walk the Christian life alone. We belong to one another because we belong to God.
I know the fall schedule can feel full. I know mornings can be rushed and evenings tired. Yet I also know the quiet joy that comes when we make space for worship—when we sit among the familiar faces of our St. Andrew Family, hear the Gospel proclaimed, and remember again that we are held together by grace.
Whether you have been away for a season or have been here faithfully week after week, know that you are welcome. Your home is here. The doors are open, and Saint Ann will greet you. David will have a hot cup of coffee waiting for you. There will be juice boxes for the Littles, and more hugs than one heart can handle.
As the seasons change around us, let us hold fast to the unchanging gift of gathering as the St. Andrew Family, centered on God’s love for All. It is good—truly good—for us to be together.
